Contests

 

Admission to full-time and part-time doctoral studies (state-funded) is carried out through a contest, which is announced in the State Gazette and on the Academy’s website. The deadline for submitting documents is at least 2 months from the date of the announcement in the State Gazette.

Candidates wishing to participate in the announced contest must submit an application to the Rector along with the following documents to the Registry Office of NSA “Vassil Levski” (Room 111):

1. Application form
2. Curriculum Vitae (CV) – European standard
3. Certified copies of diplomas for completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, along with their supplements, or a certificate issued prior to the diploma’s official release. The original diplomas are returned after being verified against the copies (as amended by the Decision of the Academic Council, Protocol No. 4 of April 25, 2024).
4. Certificate of recognition for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees issued by competent authorities if the diploma(s) were obtained from foreign higher education institutions.
5. Candidates may also attach other documents certifying their interests and achievements in the relevant scientific field.
6. Document certifying the paid fee for participation in the announced PhD competition.

After the document submission deadline, the applications are reviewed by an eligibility committee. Following the committee’s decision, all candidates are notified whether they have been admitted to the competition. The notification for admitted candidates includes the examination dates and the syllabi for the specialty and foreign language exams.

All positions have an application deadline of 2 (two) months from the date of publication in the State Gazette. Documents for the contest must be submitted to the Registry Office, Room 111, Floor 1 of NSA “Vasil Levski”, Sofia, Studentski Grad, 21 Acad. Stefan Mladenov Str. The required documents and the standard application form are published on the website of the NSA “Vassil Levski”.
