Defense of a Dissertation Thesis
Within 14 days of conducting the internal discussion in the department, the doctoral student shall submit an application to the Registry Office (Delovodstvo) of NSA “Vassil Levski,” addressed to the Rector of the National Sports Academy (NSA) “Vassil Levski,” to initiate the public defense procedure. The application must be accompanied by 5 (five) sets of documents, each containing the following:
- Enrollment order (for the educational and scientific degree “Doctor”) – copy;
- De-registration/graduation order (for the educational and scientific degree “Doctor”) – copy;
- Order for the expanded scientific council/collegium of the department (copy);
- Report/memorandum regarding the decision of the scientific collegium to launch a public defense procedure, accompanied by the minutes/protocol of the internal discussion conducted by the department;
- Reviews/evaluations from the internal discussion;
- List of publications on the topic of the dissertation thesis – full bibliographic description;
- Publications (copies);
- Curriculum Vitae (CV);
- Document certifying the results of a foreign language examination (only in cases where the defense is conducted in a foreign language);
- Other documents (at the discretion of the candidate);
- Dissertation thesis – 5 copies;
- Author’s summary/abstract (working version) – 5 copies;
- Document certifying the absence of plagiarism, issued by NSA “Vasil Levski”;
- Information card “Sirena” – in Bulgarian and English (to be filled out after the second meeting of the scientific jury), both in hard copy and electronic format in Word format;
- Dissertation and author’s summary/abstract in .pdf format on electronic media (to be submitted after the second meeting of the scientific jury).
